TWRP for Galaxy S8 and S8+
The beautiful Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ are out and they are the new talk of the town. Those who like to tinker and mess with their phones can now do it with their S8 and S8 by flashing TWRP custom recovery. TWRP was already available for the Exynos variant in April but it is now out for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+, Snapdragon variant. Galaxy S8 and S8+ uses a new type of security to prevent root and other modifications called dm-verity. Dm-verity stops the stock rom from booting if any modifications are made. Currently to bypass this security measure you have to install a custom kernel with disabled dm-verity.
Custom Kernel for Galaxy S8 (SM-G950F/FD/N) Click Here.
Custom Kernel for Galaxy S8+ (G950F/FD/X/N) and (G955F/FD/X/N) Click Here.
As of right now there is no way to unlock the bootloader of
the snapdragon variant of Galaxy S8 or S8+. TWRP for Snapdragon variant will
only work for the Chinese or Hong Kong versions, SM-G9500 and SM-G9550, of the
phone which comes with an unlocked bootloader. Whereas, if you use the American version
Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8+ then you will have to wait a little more.
There are a few ways to install custom recovery on the Galaxy S8 or S8+. If you have a rooted phone you can easily do this by install
the TWRP app from the Google Playstore from HERE. On the other hand, If your
phone is not rooted you will need to use Samsung's Odin tool.
