Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL Leaks and Roundups

That time of the year is near so Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL rumors and leaks have been flying high on the internet. Rumors as of right now are that same as last year Google is going to be releasing two devices and their internal names which leaked are “Walleye” for Pixel 2 and “Taimen” for Pixel 2 XL. As of right now no one is sure if the devices are going to be named Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL but just to make it easy to differentiate we will be calling them Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. Rumor was that Google will be partnering up with HTC again as last year to manufacture the devices whereas now the rumor is that LG will be the partner. This doesn't come as a surprise as Google and LG has partnered up before for the Nexus devices. Unlike for the Nexus Line, Google has full control over the phone's aesthetic so chances of Pixel 2 looking like the LG G6 are none.

Design:

According to the rendered based on the rumors Pixel 2 and its bigger brother will be following the theme of the first generation Pixels. A back curved back glass covering the top 1/3 portion of the phone containing the Camera and Flash. Unlike last year, the fingerprint scanner is placed just below the curved glass. There aren't any antenna bands visible this time around, maybe they are colored and blended with the back. The front of the phone will hold a 6 inch 2:1 ratio for Pixel 2 XL and 5.2 inches 2:1 ratio AMOLED display for those lovely deep blacks. The resolution for both will be a QuadHD 1312 by 2560 pixels. Google looks as to follow the 2017 trend of bezel less display. This will make the Pixel 2 devices stand against the Galaxy S8 and LG 6. The front glass looks to be curved around the edges but do not expect Google to be following Samsung with a curved display. Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will sport a flat display.

Specs:

According to a report by the good people at XDA who spoke with a source who has used the phones has revealed the specs. Both the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will house the Snapdragon 835 clocked at 2.45 Ghz. RAM for both the devices will be 4GB which is sufficient enough for multitasking. Pixel 2 XL will have 128GB storage whereas the smaller Pixel 2 will have 64GB. Adreno 540 GPU will be available in both the devices so you can play any games easily.

There is also a rumor that the bigger Pixel 2 XL will have a 3.5mm audio jack whereas the smaller Pixel 2 will be ditching it. How true is this rumor we will have to wait and see. Pixel 2 XL will support a 12 MP back camera and 7MP for the front selfie camera. As we all know megapixels aren't everything so we cannot judge the camera from this information but it should be enough for social media.

Price and Final Thoughts

Looking at the history Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will be announced early-fall. As for the price there are no good rumors and leaks but this year's Pixels 2 will be priced similarly to last year because they will be high end devices standing up against LG G6 and Galaxy S8. Pixel 32GB last year was priced at $649 and Pixel XL 32GB was priced at $769.

Looking at the rumors I like what I see and hope that the phone is designed according to the leaks and please both phones support 3.5mm audio jack. That is something I am personally not ready to give up.
